Backyard Racing

Hey everybody. We're going to race in Charlotte this weekend, the unofficial backyard of NASCAR racing. Most race teams are based out of Charlotte, so just about all of the crew members and drivers live near by Lowe's Motor Speedway. Of course I want to win wherever we race, but there's something special about Lowe's - all of our friends and family in the crowd, it just gives you an extra incentive to get in Victory Lane.

I'm real excited about this race. The Ergon Tundra was awesome in Kansas. Our day ended a little too early, but we were racing up front before the accident. The good news is that we've re-built the truck from last weekend and it's ready to roll. I know the 15 team has what it takes to get me back up front this weekend. Hopefully we'll have a finish that reflects all of the hard work and effort we've put into each weekend.

The day after our race, I'll be helping out at the NASCAR telethon. It's done in conjunction with NASCAR Day, which raises money for charity. Last year they raised over 1 million dollars. Hopefully we'll raise a ton of funds this year, too. It's always cool to help out a good cause.

Saturday night is the All-Star Race. That's one of the best shows in all of sports. At most all-star games, the athletes don't play at 100%. They play, but don't do anything that could get them injured. It's not that way in NASCAR. Drivers have lots of money to gain, and no championship points to lose. They go for it as soon as the green flag drops. I'd love to make a prediction, but all bets are off for the All-Star race. It's anyone's race.

Ya'll have great weekend and I'll talk to you soon.

Marc
