Words can't describe how excited I am to start this race season. This is going to be my chance to run with some of NASCAR's best. I've been waiting for this my whole life!
In the off-season I went back and worked for my dad’s paving company. My role there is business development. I do take offs and estimates, try to generate new business to keep us busy. That’s what I did in my time off. Now I’m up here in North Carolina, helping the team get ready for Daytona. It's time to go racing, though, and I'm excited about throwing on my Ergon firesuit and getting behind the wheel again.
There's a lot I think my team can accomplish this season. My first goal is to win rookie of the year. I definitely want to do that. Going into this year, a big springboard for me is going to be running good and being consistent. I think if I can do that, I’ll raise some eye brows and hopefully get an opportunity to keep moving up the ladder. Up to this point in my career, I’ve been moving up , up and up, so hopefully that trend will continue and I’ll get another shot in ’09 to move up to either Nationwide or Cup Series.
It's a long road ahead, but November will be hear before you know it. I think we've got all the right pieces in place to make the journey a good one!
